applause is a publishing label by the design studio ampersands.

I've noticed that movies, concerts, and plays are applauded after the show, but great books don't get applause. The concept of the book is not to be applauded, but to send out a book that makes you want to give a small round of applause in your heart.

applauseは“拍手・賞賛”などの意味があります。映画やコンサート、舞台などは終演後に拍手を送られますが、本はどんなに素晴らしいものでも拍手をされないことに気づきました。拍手をされることが目的ではなく、心の中で小さな拍手を贈りたくなるような本を送り出すことをコンセプトにしています。
